In 1946 Louis Covington Mackall published "A Short History - The Mackall Family". This site uses that seminal work as its foundation in adding additional generations, correcting errors and adding more biographical detail to one of America's earliest and most distinguished families. Later generations have been added from materials received from Henry C. Mackall of Fairfax, VA. Other source materials are listed in the Bibliography.
